This is an example of the work that I had done during a 3 month long SG50 event which involved a few martial arts grand masters coaching secondary school students. My responsibilities included writing blog posts, editing videos and filming. My team and I also had to come up with ideas for a good story to go along with our filming and blog posts. It was a great experience to be part of the event.
This is a video done for one of Exile Solution’s clients, Lego Serious Play. It was a really unique project that was fun to do, but also tedious. I took about 3 hours to learn After Effects before starting work. This is the final result and I am pleased to say that the client is satisfied. I had to use Adobe Photoshop to edit some of the Lego photographs taken too. The major obstacle to overcome was to make the video professional, yet fun. Thus, this is why I chose to use After Effects, because it can pull off various typography effects. I kept the background simple, just a plain colour to keep it clean and professional looking.
This is one of the blog posts that I wrote during the SG50 Martial Apprenticeship Event. Every session, we have to write about something different, whether it is about the student’s motivation to train martial arts, or the teachers’ reasons why they want to teach. This whole event serves as a platform to show how the different races and cultures of Singapore can unite and learn from one another.
The Hex Hoppers is a Facebook Page that my team and I managed. This is a page that is similar to many food magazines and food blogs, however, we chose to only focus on reviewing Halal Cafes only. This is one of the posts that I got to work on. In a cafe review, I believe that the most important thing is to let the readers know that this review is only an opinion. They are still free to try out the cafe on their own and give their own opinions, whether it is good or bad. However, with that being said, it is still important to have a professional tone in the review. After all, you are reviewing someone’s cafe, and being respectful towards the food is only appropriate.
Pickture Perfect was an event held by our class in SPACE Agency at Singapore Polytechnic. The event was 2 hours long and had 26 participants. I was involved in the pre publicity team where I had to be responsible for Public Relations matters and helped to update the Social Media account. I helped to craft a radio script that was played on air for 30 seconds in SPACE radio. This is a radio station that is broadcasted across the school. I also wrote a press release and helped to run a promotional activity. The promotional activity was a photo booth during the open house.
